Blueberry Cream Cheese Danish Black Tea

Wow are you guys in for a treat this week!

Here’s our premium Indian black teas (a little extra Assam in this blend since I envisioned it as a breakfast tea) blended with GREAT BIG, whole freeze-dried blueberries and natural flavors. I have a feeling this is going to be a VERY popular blend. Enjoy!

New Contest!

So, we really want you to subscribe to our email newsletter, and we want you to read the posts we send you. I may not be John Grisham, but I think I write some pretty stirring prose about our teas.

So, our free pouch giveaway contest is going to change. From now on, one or more of our posts each month may contain an invitation like the one below. You must actually have the post in your email inbox to reply to in order to win, so if you haven’t already done so, please take a moment to fill in your name and email address under the “Join Our Mailing List” section on our website. You can opt-out any time you like.

No new contest this week, stay tuned for our next contest!

Congratulations to J. Beadles who won last week’s contest!

Brandon’s Snickerdoodle Black Tea

Brandon is one of our most loyal customers at our brick and mortar shop, Zoomdweebie’s Tea Bar. If there has been a week over the past two or three years since he first discovered us that Brandon has not stopped in, I certainly can’t remember it. He is always there, enjoying our teas and sharing his quirky sense of humor with everyone around him.

Brandon kind of reminds me of a snickerdoodle–a bit spicy and tough on the outside, but warm and inviting once you get to know him.

Brandon likes to make some of his own concoctions at Zoomdweebie’s, asking me to brew him up a little of this with a little of that (or to brew the hot tea into a mug full of gummy bears as I recall…) One of his recent favorites is to blend vanilla and cinnamon teas which he has been hounding me about blending together and naming it “Brandon’s Blend”.

Here then, Brandon, is your fifteen minutes of fame.

Email Contest!

New Rules: We will collect responses through 11:59:59PM Central Time on Friday. From all of the correct responses we receive, I will select a winner at random using a random number generator and a count of all of the correct replies. The winner will be announced with the posting of next week’s Tea of the Week.

This week’s trivia challenge:

We did not get a SINGLE entry into last week’s contest… because… I upgraded part of our website and inadvertently disabled the email newsletter! So, no one got the email last week! DOH!

Well, I guess that makes it a little easier for this week. We’ll just use the same question!

According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iced_tea iced tea makes up about what percentage of all of the tea consumed in the United States?

Cran-Strawberry Black Tea

Yes, the Tea of the Week is VERY late this week. But it is still this week. For those of you who closely watch for our new tea each week, I apologize; I’m having a really rough week, but I’m doing my best to pull my head out and get my poop in a group.

This week’s tea ought to help. It’s our premium black teas blended with real dried cranberries, freeze-dried strawberries and natural flavors. Just the thing for a delicious iced tea after what seems like two months of 110-degree weather here in Wichita, Kansas.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I am!

06.07.10 Dreamsicle Darjeeling

Orange you glad we didn’t just do another ho-hum Orange tea? Oh, my darjeelings, we couldn’t do that to you!

Instead, here’s a blend of real Margaret’s Hope Estate Darjeelings blended with real orange peel and natural orange and cream flavors. It’s a Dreamsicle Darjeeling. There’s some purists out there who might find it an outrage that we would create a flavored blend with what is known as the “Champagne of teas”, but we’re not scared. Give this a shot and you’ll be wondering why no one has attempted it before.

Just remember that Darjeeling is a bit more delicate than most black teas. Some tea nerds would argue that it is technically an oolong, as it is only oxidized about 90%. The upshot of all of this is that you have to steep it in water just below the boiling point (180-190°) for three to four minutes only.

So, without further ado, here is our orangey-creamy, delicious darjeeling tea of the week:
