How to make a TEA SODA

This is how we make them at Zoomdweebie’s

• Brew about 1/3 cup of strong flavored tea like our Cherry Vanilla Cola flavored Black Tea.
• Disolve 1/2 cup sugar into tea.
• Allow to cool or pour over ice.
• Finish with about eight ounces of carbonated water or “sparkling water”.
• Stir and enjoy!

We’re pushing the envelope again this week! With some bottled beverage manufacturers offering sodas made with tea, we thought we would put a different spin on it and offer a tea flavored with soda! Here’s our Cherry Vanilla Cola flavored black tea.

Proving once again that we’re not your Aunt Beatrice’s tea blender, this blend has real cherries, vanilla bean pieces and all natural cola flavor. It’s a great tea for a tea soda, so we’re posting our tea soda recipe for those of you who are interested.

The first cola was created by druggist John Pemberton in 1885. He named it Coca-Cola, reportedly after the two crucial ingredients: cocaine and kola nuts. In a sense, Pemberton was a sort of tea blender only he worked with tisanes and carbonated water.

How to Make a Tea Spritzer Zoomdweebie’s Style

Combine 1/3 cup sugar with 1/3 cup hot, brewed tea (such as this Wild Cherry Flavored Black Tea)

Mix until sugar is disolved.

Pour into a large glass of ice

Top off with Coke or Sprite

Technically, we use a 12oz. can of soda with the sweetened tea and enough ice to yield a 24oz serving. Cherry Coke anyone? Pina Colada Honeybush Sprite? Yummm

We experimented with three different kinds of dried cherries in creating this blend, and finally settled on ALL THREE. So the resulting limited edition blend contains real sweet cherries, Montmorency tart cherries, and balaton cherries along with a relaxing hint of creamy vanilla flavor.
