UPDATE: Sorry, I forgot to select/announce our winner from last week’s contest. Congratulations to Cheryl McCoy who wins a free pouch of tea from 52teas!

So, you all know that I have been working on clearing out the last of my Zoomdweebie’s Tea Blends to make room for more 52teas, ManTeas, and MySweetHoneybush blends. I had a lot of teas pouched up, and I had a lot of tea waiting to be pouched. From the latter, I have created our tea of the week for this week.

I know many of you think I am crazy; I’m confirming your suspicions with this week’s blend, which is TRULY and completely one-of-a-kind and definitely a limited edition blend. I could not recreate this if I tried. In varying and unknown proportions, this tea has all of the following blends mixed into it:

Apple
Apricot
Blackberry
Blueberry
Cranberry
Cherry
Ginger
Grapefruit
Key Lime
Lemon
Lime
Mango
Orange
Peach
Pineapple
Raspberry
Strawberry
Watermelon
Ginger, Peach and Lemongrass
Tangerine
Banana
Honey Lemon
Guava
Cran-Raspberry

There are fruit peels, dried fruit, freeze dried fruit, some ginger and some lemongrass mixed in it. It is spectacularly ridiculous. I’m not sure if you will taste each of the flavors in every cup or if every cup will be a little different, but it will definitely be interesting.

Incidentally, I am going to TRY offering the tea in two- and four- ounce quantities. This is a bit of an experiment for me to see how it goes. You can get one two ounce pouch for $8.99 or two pouches for $12.99. At least until we start running low on pouches, then it might go back to just two ounce pouches.

So, we really want you to subscribe to our email newsletter, and we want you to read the posts we send you. I may not be John Grisham, but I think I write some pretty stirring prose about our teas.

So, our free pouch giveaway contest is going to change. From now on, one or more of our posts each month may contain an invitation like the one below. You must actually have the post in your email inbox to reply to in order to win, so if you haven’t already done so, please take a moment to fill in your name and email address under the “Join Our Mailing List” section on our website. You can opt-out any time you like.

Email Contest!

New Rules: We will collect responses through 11:59:59PM Central Time on Friday. From all of the correct responses we receive, I will select a winner at random using a random number generator and a count of all of the correct replies. The winner will be announced with the posting of next week’s Tea of the Week.

This week’s trivia challenge:

According to http://en.allexperts.com/q/Etymology-Meaning-Words-1474/phrase-derivation.htm the phrase “everything but the kitchen sink” originated in what 1940s radio show?

Beannachtai Lá Fhéile Pádraig! (Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!)

We’re a bit early, but we didn’t think you would mind us bringing you one of our all-time most popular blends in a sweet 4-ounce tin, just in time for Saint Patrick’s Day!

If you’ve never had our Shamrock Tea, you are in for a real treat. It’s our buttery-sweet Chinese sencha blended with real fresh cut peppermint and spearmint and just a touch of natural vanilla flavoring to smooth out the sharp edges of the mint.

It was inspired by some not-to-be-named fast food chain’s milkshake offering (made available every year at about this time), but when we introduced it last year, it was so popular, we were still reblending it well past Saint Patty’s Day. Here’s a video review our friend Jess at NerdiTea created for us last year:

Now THIS is a special treat! Japanese Matcha with real freeze dried orange sections (we pulverized them in an attempt to make the pieces as fine as the matcha, so you might not be able to see them, but we promise, they are there) and natural orange flavoring.

If you’ve never had matcha before, it is a stone-ground green tea from Japan, traditionally served in Japanese tea ceremonies. Preparation involves whisking the powder into hot (NOT boiling) water to create a frothy green tea.

As with all of our Tea of the Week blends, this is a limited edition blend, and it’s likely to go FAST, so get yours while you can!
