Citrus Spice Chamomile
So, to be completely Frank with you (I love saying that): I’m not a big chamomile person. Lately I’ve been thinking I could use a bit of a sleep aid, and (in case you didn’t know already), chamomile actually has a natural, mild muscle relaxant in it, which many people use to help them relax/sleep. Still, if I’m going to drink chamomile, it needs to taste like something other than flowers.
So, without further ado:

Check out all of the amazing blends we have in stock HERE
So, we really want you to subscribe to our email newsletter, and we want you to read the posts we send you. I may not be John Grisham, but I think I write some pretty stirring prose about our teas.
So, our free pouch giveaway contest is going to change. From now on, one or more of our posts each month may contain an invitation like the one below. You must actually have the post in your email inbox to reply to in order to win, so if you haven’t already done so, please take a moment to fill in your name and email address under the “Join Our Mailing List” section on our website. You can opt-out any time you like.
Email Contest!
New Rules: We will collect responses through 11:59:59PM Central Time on Friday. From all of the correct responses we receive, I will select a winner at random using a random number generator and a count of all of the correct replies. The winner will be announced with the posting of next week’s Tea of the Week.
Congratulations to Natalie Tyler who correctly identified Jacksons of Piccadilly as the originators of Earl Grey.
This week’s trivia challenge:
What country claims chamomile as their national flower?
06.07.10 Dreamsicle Darjeeling
Orange you glad we didn’t just do another ho-hum Orange tea? Oh, my darjeelings, we couldn’t do that to you!
Instead, here’s a blend of real Margaret’s Hope Estate Darjeelings blended with real orange peel and natural orange and cream flavors. It’s a Dreamsicle Darjeeling. There’s some purists out there who might find it an outrage that we would create a flavored blend with what is known as the “Champagne of teas”, but we’re not scared. Give this a shot and you’ll be wondering why no one has attempted it before.
Just remember that Darjeeling is a bit more delicate than most black teas. Some tea nerds would argue that it is technically an oolong, as it is only oxidized about 90%. The upshot of all of this is that you have to steep it in water just below the boiling point (180-190°) for three to four minutes only.
So, without further ado, here is our orangey-creamy, delicious darjeeling tea of the week:

10.26.09 Mandarin Matcha
Now THIS is a special treat! Japanese Matcha with real freeze dried orange sections (we pulverized them in an attempt to make the pieces as fine as the matcha, so you might not be able to see them, but we promise, they are there) and natural orange flavoring.
If you’ve never had matcha before, it is a stone-ground green tea from Japan, traditionally served in Japanese tea ceremonies. Preparation involves whisking the powder into hot (NOT boiling) water to create a frothy green tea.
As with all of our Tea of the Week blends, this is a limited edition blend, and it’s likely to go FAST, so get yours while you can!

07.06.09 Mango-Orange Honeybush
Here’s a caffeine-free treat for a warm summer day (or evening). Sweet red honeybush with real freeze-dried mango pieces and orange section pieces.
I got the freeze-dried orange sections in a few weeks ago and have been itching to use them in a blend ever since. Everybody else has orange peel in their blends, but we found actual, nothing-added freeze-dried orange sections. This blend is going to knock your socks off.
