As we gear up for the summer blockbusters with the release of “Clash of the Titans” (which the original remains one of my all time favorite movies), I find myself getting a bit nostalgic for those summers as a teenager (when the original “Clash of the Titans” came out) when I didn’t have any real responsibilities. Didn’t we all just take that teenage freedom for granted something awful?

Anyway, I was thinking about those lazy summers when school was out and my friends and I would go out to the afternoon matinees, maybe sneak into see more than one show… and the popcorn with pounds of butter and, well, the Raisinettes! I mean, there were those perverts who preferred Goobers, but anyone who knew anything about movie theater snacking, knew that Raisinettes were where it was at.

So, for our tea of the week this week, I’ve concocted a Raisinette inspired blend of premium black teas, milk chocolate chips, organic cacao nibs and sun-dried raisins. Hope you enjoy!

I love my job. Really, I just love coming up with new blends for you guys. And this week, I think we have come up with something really unique and awesome!

So, a raisin flavored tea is pretty unique in and of itself; cinnamon-raisin tea: a bit cooler, but at 52teas, we don’t just push the envelope, we shove. So, I’m happy to present our tea of the week for the week of January 4, 2010: Buttered Cinnamon Raisin Toast flavored black tea.

We started with our premium Indian black teas base, added just a touch of smoked Assam teas for a tiny bit of toastiness, then we added real golden raisins, cinnamon stick bits and natural raisin and cinnamon flavors. We topped it all off with just a hint of natural butter flavoring. The result: Well, you will have to try it to believe it.

I am in the process of clearing out some of my excess inventory of fine estate teas to make room for more 52teas blends, so I decided I should just create some really unique blends with these and offer them to our loyal customers.
