On the 10th Day of Christmas, 52Teas has for you: Toffe Bar Chai Black Tea!

Tea Description: One thing I found interesting about this year's holiday poll is that teas that the winning teas were overwhelmingly teas that I haven't blended in quite some time - most are blends that have never been reblended until now. It was really quite exciting!

This blend is one such blend. This blend was crafted back in October of 2015 as a reward for our start up Kickstarter campaign. It starts with a blend of black teas (Assam, Ceylon & Yunnan) & is combined with spices (cardamom, ginger, clove & black pepper) and cacao shells & nibs along with a touch toffee essence to create a spicy sweet, chocolate-y & rich buttery toffee tasting cuppa. 

My original description went like this: 

This takes an ordinary toffee bar up a notch or two! I used my black tea base of organic Chinese & Indian teas and flavored them with buttery toffee flavors and then added some cardamom, ginger, clove and black pepper just to spice things up a bit. And just to make sure those chocolate-y flavors come out and play, I added cacao nibs & cacao shells! 

I'm so glad to be revisiting this tea - it's a yummy cuppa! It's also organic, VEGAN, gluten-free & allergen-free!

I am so happy to have this tea in my pantry again. I had forgotten just how much I love it until I wrapped my hands around a warm mug of this tea and started sipping. It's so delectably sweet & spicy. Nice cardamom notes. Lovely buttery toffee flavor with notes of chocolate. Rich & so satisfying. 

to brew: shake the pouch gently to redistribute the ingredients. use 3 1/2 grams of product to 12 ounces of nearly boiling water (205°F). steep for 3 minutes. strain & allow to cool for at least 10 minutes. enjoy!

This tea tastes good served straight but as with any chai tea, I do recommend a small amount of sugar to enhance the spice notes. I use 1/2 teaspoon of sugar to 12 ounces of tea - this will bring out the flavors of this blend. Oh so good!
