Tea of the Week for February 10, 2020: Coconut Cake White Tea!

Coconut Cake White Tea!
Tea Description: Oh wow! If you're a coconut tea lover - have I got a tea for you!
Organic White Peony tea blended with huge chips of organic coconut & just a touch of essence to give it a sweet, coconut cake taste. So, so yummy!
And yes, it's organic, it's also VEGAN & gluten-free. I usually would say that it's allergen-free, but coconut is *technically* considered a tree nut & there IS coconut in this blend - so take that into consideration if you're allergic.
organic ingredients: white tea, coconut chips & natural flavors
So I'm going crazy over this tea! You might even say I'm going COCONUTS over it! (Yeah, it sounded cleverer in my head than it does as I read it.)
Anyway, this wasn't the tea I had originally planned for this week. I had originally planned something much different (not a white tea) but I didn't have the ingredients I needed for the other blend - and I had white tea on hand so I decided - let's do this!
I'm really glad that this tea happened though, because it's really good.
The coconut flavor is forward, but as the sip moves into the aftertaste, you get a cake-y kind of taste. And of course, the mellow white tea is so pleasant & smooth - it just works so well with this combination of flavors.
to brew: Use 3 grams of leaf to 12 ounces of hot water (165°F) & allow to steep for 3 1/2 minutes. strain & allow to cool for about 5 minutes. (I feel like the cool time is really essential here, those cake-y flavors really pop after a few minutes of cool time.) Sweetener is not necessary here, but if you want it to taste a bit more cake-y, try a little pinch of sugar to make it taste a little more like cake.
Also, I highly recommend resteeping these leaves. The second steep was even tastier than the first!
