Tea of the Week for June 3, 2019: Orange Cream Green Tea!

Orange Cream Green Tea!
Tea Description: Earlier this month, my youngest daughter graduated from High School & she did so with highest honors! In case it's not obvious, I'm very proud of her & all that she worked so hard to achieve. In honor of this auspicious occasion, I decided to create a tea inspired by her. Specifically, this tea. Orange Cream is one of her favorite flavors - or should I say, flavor combinations? - so I thought it would be lovely to start with some of our Organic Chinese Sencha which is naturally sweet & smooth - somewhat creamy even - to blend oranges, vanilla beans & just a light sprinkling of orange blossoms.
Wow - this is really delightful. Sweet & silky, with a nice, bright orange note and a creamy vanilla finish. The green tea is light and refreshing. This makes for a fantastic summer quencher - cold brew it for a sweet, refreshing chilled drink that will cool you off during the hot days to come.
I am so happy with how this one turned out. This is a MUST try!
ingredients: orange blossoms
organic ingredients: green tea, oranges, vanilla beans & natural flavors
Oh my goodness! This is really good.
I haven't yet had my daughter try this & now that I have tasted it, I can't wait for her to try it. She's sleeping at the moment, so I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow afternoon when she gets home from work. I haven't told her that I made not just one but two teas this month that were inspired by her (this tea & our featured reblend this month are both teas that are going to be favorites of hers!)
The flavors are really so good here: the orange is bright but not too acidic - the vanilla softens it just the right amount so that what's left is the sweet note of sunny orange with a lovely sweet, creamy note. The buttery quality of the Chinese Sencha works with the vanilla to enhance that soft, creamy taste.
I really love this - I think you will too!
to brew: shake the pouch to distribute the ingredients throughout. measure 2 1/2 grams of leaf and fruit* to 12 ounces of hot water (heated to 175°F). steep for 2 minutes. strain. allow to cool for about 5 minutes. enjoy!
This is lovely without sweetener of any kind, however, I found that a teensy bit of sugar will bring out the vanilla notes a bit more. (I used a half a teaspoon of sugar.)
*make sure there is only 1 piece of fruit per 2 1/2 gram measurement (otherwise the weight of the fruit will throw off the amount of tea in the measurement and this will affect the flavor off a bit)
