 Bananas & Peanut Butter Honeybush/Rooibos Blend!

Tea Description: Full Disclosure: I am not a fan of PB & J. I'm just not. I didn't like it as a kid - still don't. But Bananas & Peanut Butter? Now that's a different story altogether. That's a combo I can eat anytime!  

52Teas has done a couple of PB & J versions, but I don't think we've done a Bananas & Peanut Butter blend - so I decided to change that right away. This is a blend of organic South African Herbs - Rooibos & Honeybush - combined with peanut butter essence & freeze-dried bananas. It's sweet & yummy - not to mention NUT-free & PEANUT-free! It's also organic, VEGAN & gluten-free! 

Note: I highly recommend steeping this blend at least 8 minutes (more is fine, it won't become bitter) & allowing it to cool for at least 5 - 10 minutes to allow the flavors to develop!

This is really yummy! It brings me back to my youth when I'd scoop out a couple of tablespoons of peanut butter and stir in mashed bananas & ate that by the spoonful. (It's also good on bread if you want a sandwich.) 

The first few sips were very banana with notes of peanut butter in the background. As I continued to sip, I started to pick up on more peanut butter notes - as I mentioned in the description above, some cool time is absolutely necessary for this blend as it will allow the peanut butter notes to develop. The banana also becomes more defined in that all important cool time. 

The honeybush & rooibos combination works well for this - the natural nutty & honey-sweet flavors of the herbs meld nicely with the peanut butter notes. 

to brew: After a gentle shake of the pouch, measure out 4g of leaf for 12 ounces of very hot water (195°F) & allow to steep for at least 8 minutes. longer is OK - it won't become bitter! strain & allow to cool for at least 5 minutes. 

A wee bit of sugar will enhance the flavors but it quite good without.
