Radioactive Marshmallow Black Tea!
Tea Description: They told me it couldn't be done! (They shouldn't tell me I can't do something because then I want to do it.)
This tea starts out with out RadioactiviTEA base - which is a blend of CTC Assam teas that have been carefully selected to create a rich, full-flavored, rich tasting tea that's full of gusto. Then I added marshmallow root & vanilla bean - to offer a sweet, marshmallow-y note to this otherwise vigorously strong black tea. This is like the love child of our Marshmallow Assam & our French Vanilla Assam on steroids (please note: no actual steroids and/or other drugs were used in the creation of this tea.)
What I love about this tea is that the richness of the Assam is forward, but the creamy vanilla-y goodness still manages to shine through. Where the RadioactiviTEA tends to be very edgy - this tea has just a hint of softness. It softens those rough edges.
It tastes great straight. Add a little bit of sweetener & the sweet, fluffy marshmallow pops. Add a splash of milk & you have a stellar latte. This is the kind of tea you want to get you going in the morning - it will help you shake off the last remnants of sleep so you can face your day - while still offering you a memorable sweetness so that your day is a great one!
It's VEGAN, gluten-free & allergen-free!
ingredients: black teas
organic ingredients: marshmallow root, vanilla bean, cornflower petals & natural flavors
This is so yummy! It is rich & robust. It definitely has that vigor of the RadioactiviTEA blend from which it was created - but it's just a bit softer owing to the vanilla bean & marshmallow root. There is enough marshmallow essence to offer a sweet, fluffy note to the cup that brings a smile to my face.
When you're brewing this, it's important that you pay attention to the steep time. Because this *IS* a blend of CTC Assam teas, it will become bitter by the second. Feel free to experiment to find your own strength level, of course, but as for me, I find that a second over 2 1/2 seconds & I have a tea that's a bit more astringent than I want. Yes, this is a very finicky tea & not a very forgiving one.
But with all that, I can also say that this is an amazingly good vanilla marshmallow black tea. It's just - very strong!
to brew: give the pouch a gentle shake to make sure that the tiny vanilla beans are distributed throughout. use 2 1/2 grams to 12 ounces of nearly boiling water (205°F) & steep for 2 1/2 minutes. strain & allow to cool for at least 10 minutes.
As I mentioned above, this tastes great straight, but I think I prefer it with just a teensy bit of sugar as well as a splash of milk for a latte! A great tea to get you going!
