Strawberry Kiwi Green Rooibos!
Tea Description: One fruit flavor I had not yet utilized in any of my blends is kiwi - but it's one that I had been wanting to use for a while - and now that summer is here, I wanted to be sure to blend some fresh and fruity blends that will be ideal for iced tea brewing - so it seemed like a perfect time to craft my first kiwi blend.
For this blend, I started with organic green rooibos - which are light and fruity tasting on their own - and added diced freeze-dried kiwi fruit & strawberries. It's sweet, fruity and refreshing. It tastes great as a hot tea but I highly recommend trying this one iced. It's perfect.
It's also organic, caffeine-free, VEGAN, gluten free & allergen free!
organic ingredients: green rooibos, kiwi, strawberries & natural flavors
Yummy! I know I've said this before, but I really do prefer green rooibos to the oxidized red rooibos. The green rooibos has a light, fresh and fruity taste to it that makes it an ideal base for fruity tisanes. I like the way the green rooibos tastes with this kiwi and strawberry combination. The two fruits have a sweet taste - but there's also just enough tart taste to it to keep the cup from being too cloying.
to brew: Give the pouch a gentle shake before you measure it to make sure that the fruit bits are incorporated throughout the blend. As with all tisanes, I recommend using a bit more leaf than you would for a camellia sinensis blend because the herb leaves do not produce as much flavor as do the tea leaves. This blend does pack quite a nice punch of flavor though, so I recommend 4g of leaf to 12 ounces of freshly filtered water heated to 190°F. Let steep for at least 8 minutes. You can steep longer, if you want - it won't get bitter. Strain when you're ready and enjoy!
