Raspberry Marshmallow Treat Genmaicha!

If you've been following 52Teas for a while - you're probably aware that we like to play around with our classic Marshmallow Treat Genmaicha - one of our most popular teas. This time around, I added raspberries - lots & lots of organic, freeze-dried raspberries - to our Marshmallow Treat Genmaicha. And . . . YUM!
This tea starts with the usual ingredients: genmaicha (an organic green tea with toasted/popped rice), marshmallow root & natural flavors. Then, as I mentioned before, I added a bunch of raspberries. The raspberries add a bright sweet-tartness to the cup that nicely contrasts the sweet, smooth & toasty flavor of the Marshmallow Treat genmaicha. Such a delightful flavor!
This organic blend is vegan - yep, you read that right, it's VEGAN. It's also gluten free & allergen free!

Yummy! As I mentioned above, we've made quite a few different "Marshmallow Treat" variations of our popular Marshmallow Treat Genmaicha. Some have been better than others & I think that this is definitely one of the best that have come from them. The bright, vibrant flavor of the raspberry really shines through and enhances the marshmallow treat flavors while offering a delightful tartness to contrast the sweet, creamy notes of the blend. It works so well together, it makes me wonder why I didn't blend this sooner! I wouldn't be at all surprised if this blend ends up on the reblend list for next year's holiday box!
Really, it's just - so good!
to brew: shake the pouch well to make sure there are plenty of raspberry bits incorporated throughout the genmaicha. Measure 2 1/2 grams of leaf to 12 ounces of hot water (175°F). Steep for 2 minutes. strain & allow to cool for about 5 minutes. enjoy!
