Maple Nut Cookie Rooibos!
Tea Description: A delicious tisane crafted for my friends at Amoda Tea! This blend starts with organic South African rooibos & is blended with cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg & natural flavors to create a maple-y sweet, nutty cookie taste for your teacup!
I LOVE this tisane - it is a perfect late-night treat! I'm one of those people who is always looking for something sweet late at night. That is - OF COURSE! - the worst time to be indulging in something sweet, which is one of the reasons why I appreciate tisanes like this one - something sweet & tasty to drink late at night - something that's naturally caffeine free & so delightful to sip. It has a maple flavor that I adore & the spices in this add a little warmth - giving it a cozy kind of flavor - this tea makes it a pleasure to just unwind & relax.
Because this blend is naturally caffeine free, you can enjoy it any time of the day & it makes a particularly nice late-night treat alternative when you have that urge to raid the cupboards for something sweet. It's also VEGAN, gluten-free, organic & allergen-free (yep, it's even NUT free!)
organic ingredients: rooibos, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, calendula petals & natural flavors
Mmm! Maple!
Maple is definitely one of my favorite flavors - especially when it comes to tea. There is something about maple & hot tea that just works for me. With this blend, the addition of the spices - just enough to add some warmth without overwhelming the palate with spice - really enhances the maple in a lovely way. Then there's the nutty tones & the cookie notes that makes this cuppa something special.
So nice!
to brew: give the pouch a gentle shake to redistribute the spices & rooibos leaves. you'll definitely want some of those spices in your measurement! I recommend 4g of leaf to 12 ounces of very hot water (heated to 195°F) & steeping for at least 8 minutes. steeping longer will result in a stronger flavor - but no bitterness! For this particular taste test, I actually steeped it for 10 minutes - so if you can steep longer - all the better! strain & allow to cool for at least 5 minutes to allow the flavors time to develop. enjoy!
I found this to be enjoyable served without additions, however, if you want to give the cookie notes a little more pop, add just a teensy bit of sugar.
