Clark Black Tea - Taster

Clark Black Tea - Taster

Product Description

Tea of the Week for October 26, 2020!

The Fourth Tea of our Trick or Treat Theme for October 2020!

My inspiration for this tea is the candy bar of peanut butter toffee coated in chocolate. Probably the most familiar of these candy bars is the Butterfinger. You may also be familiar with the 5th Avenue bar - in my opinion - the best candy bar like this is known as the Clark Bar (because actual chocolate & won't need to chisel the sticky stuff off your teeth after you eat it).

This blend starts with Black Gunpowder tea & is blended with peanut butter essence (don't worry, this is peanut free!) & toffee essence. Then I added cacao nibs, cacao shells & VEGAN chocolate chips.

This turned out super yummy! Tastes like someone liquified a Clark bar & added it to a cup of black tea! Gluten-free, allergen-free & VEGAN!

Taster size is approximately 15g

ingredients: black tea, vegan chocolate chips (unsweetened chocolate, cane sugar)

organic ingredients: cacao nibs, cacao shells, calendula petals & natural flavors

YUM! This tastes so good!

I'll be honest, it's not as good as an actual Clark bar because one of the things that makes Clark bars so delicious is that crispy texture & try as I might, I can't make tea crunchy.

But, it does have the flavors that I get when I eat a Clark Bar (or a Butterfinger, or a 5th Avenue) - I get that peanut butter-y toffee flavor & the chocolate. Very tasty!

Smooth, rich, chocolate-y & peanut butter-y sweet. No astringency. Just a pleasant sipper that tastes a bit like it should be a dessert rather than a tea!

to brew: give this blend a good shake to make sure you get the nibs, shells & chocolate chips mixed in with the tea leaves. you want all these things represented in the measurement for the right flavor! use 3g of leaf & cacao/chocolate to 12 ounces of near boiling water (205°F) & steep for 3 minutes. strain & allow to cool for at least 10 minutes. enjoy!

I recommend a bit of sugar with this tea to get that candy bar kind of taste that I was going for. It tastes really nice without the sugar, but the sugar will give it that candy bar flavor. I used 1/2 teaspoon for 12 ounces of tea & it makes for a perfect cuppa!
