Fruity Candy Crush Black Tea - Taster

Fruity Candy Crush Black Tea - Taster

Product Description

Tea of the Week for October 5, 2020!

The First Tea of our Trick Or Treat Theme for October 2020!

This deliciously fruity blend starts with a black tea base (Assam, Ceylon & Yunnan) & is combined with an assortment of fruit flavors, including Raspberry, Mango, Strawberry & Orange.

I wasn't trying to make it too sweet or candy-ish, because I prefer my teas to not be overly sweet. I figure, if you want a sweeter tea, you can add a bit of sugar or other sweetener to it. My inspiration here was fruity candies - but with a little less sweet taste and little more tea taste to it (because I haven't found candies quite like that and I think it would be really awesome if such a candy existed, don't you?) Plus, the fruity notes give the cup a nice, natural kind of sweetness that I think is really quite nice. There's also a touch of tartness to the cup for those of you who prefer your candies on the tart side. It's not overly tart either, but I think there's a nice balance between tart and sweet.

I'm really pleased with how this one turned out! Oh, and it's VEGAN, gluten free & allergen free!

Taster size is approximately 15g

organic ingredients: black teas, mangoes, raspberries, oranges, strawberries & natural flavors

PLEASE NOTE: The labels were printed up before the candy sprinkles were added to the tea & because the candy sprinkles did not arrive in time to add them, they did not become part of the tea.

At the beginning of 2020, I wasn't planning on this month's theme to be "Trick or Treat" - I was planning for a different month but as the year progressed, different things have happened that forced me to rethink my original theme - none the least of which was the virus that has severely delayed the shipment of product to me - meaning that I couldn't have gone with my original theme had I wanted to because I didn't get some necessary ingredients that I would have needed for the theme.

But it all turned out OK because I'm loving the teas that I've created for our Trick or Treat theme!

This tea has a really lovely fruity flavor that's both tart & sweet. Despite it's "candy" name, I didn't want it to be too "candy" sweet because as I mentioned in the description above, I prefer to determine just how sweet my teas will be. I wanted a certain amount of fruity sweetness, but not too much sugary sweetness.

I also like that the fruity notes is more like a fruity medley rather than specifically any one particular flavor. That was also my intention - I wanted to taste a medley of fruit flavors when I sipped this - kind of like if I were to eat a handful of Skittles (or other fruity candy) all at once, I'd get a burst of fruity flavors rather than one particular flavor. That's what I was going for here.

This is so yummy!

to brew: give the blend a good shake before you measure to make sure you get a good representation of the various fruits in this blend in each measurement. use 3g of tea leaves & fruit to 12 ounces of nearly boiling water (205°F) & steep for 3 minutes. strain & allow to cool for at least 5 minutes to allow the flavors to develop. enjoy!

I didn't use sugar for my first cuppa & I enjoyed it the way it was. A wee bit of sugar will bring out more of the sweetness of the fruits (as well as the tartness).
