Tea of the Week for September 2, 2019!
This tea is meant to serve as my final goodbye to this summer. At least, I hope summer is on it's way out. We had some really pleasant weather here in the Pacific Northwest (Read: it's been cool & we've even had some rain!) But then, we've also had a few rather warm days that leave me a bit worried about if I can start saying & be comfortably certain that fall is finally here.
But enough of that. As I was saying - this tea was meant to be my final goodbye to summer. I envisioned this tea many months ago - after trying a sample of my supplier's Japanese Tamaryokucha Green tea. I envisioned it as a tea to celebrate my daughter Lilith's birthday - "Mermaids" are something kind of special between the two of us & I wanted to create a mermaid tea for her birthday. However, I didn't yet have this Tamaryokucha in stock in time to blend it for August's teas, so I put it off until this month.
The Tamaryokucha is sweet & smooth. Mild! No astringency at all. It is just - wonderful. I find myself enjoying it far more than Japanese Sencha. It makes a delightful base for this blend of pineapple, coconut, blueberries & a hint of lime. A tropical flavor - but just a little different from your average tropical thanks to the blueberry notes.
A really delicious tea that is fantastic served hot - and even better cold-brewed & served cold! So refreshing! It is, of course: organic, VEGAN, gluten-free & allergen-free!
