Featured Reblend for September 2020!

Yum! This sweet treat combines a blend of black teas (Assam, Assamica, Ceylon & Yunnan) together with vanilla bean, sarsaparilla root, marshmallow root & essence to create a delightful root beer float that's perfectly acceptable to enjoy at breakfast! 

This is the third time I've reblended this tea & the recipe is a little different this time around. I didn't have all the teas I used in my previous versions of this blend & due to the pandemic (as well as the fires in the Pacific Northwest & the changes to the postal system) I haven't been getting my supplies in a timely manner and this unfortunately affects my blends. However, I think this one still turned out remarkably well. 

This delightfully dessert-y cuppa is gluten-free, allergen-free & VEGAN!

Back when I ran the poll for the 12 Teas of Christmas box, this was a blend that was requested by a few people. It wasn't actually on the poll, but we several write-in requests for it - so I decided I would reblend it soon. I hadn't originally planned on reblending it this soon, but as I mentioned above, the pandemic has forced me to juggle my reblends a bit. 

But tasting this now, I'm really glad I get to sip on this one again. The blend is absolutely different from the first two reblends I crafted of this tea (each one was a little different depending upon inventory at the time of reblending) but each one has been rather good. 

This is a blend that I strongly urge you to allow to cool a bit before you start sipping to allow those flavors to develop. I usually wait at least 10 minutes. I'd also recommend adding just a wee bit of sugar to it as well - it is a dessert-y tea, after all. The flavors pop a bit with the addition of the sugar. I usually use a little less than 1/2 a teaspoon per 12 ounce cup & it works wonders!

to brew: use 3g of leaf to 12 ounces of near boiling water (205°F) & allow to steep for 2 1/2 to 3 minutes. strain & allow to cool for at least 10 minutes. enjoy!
