Tea of the Week for July 15, 2019!
A White Tea w/Carrots & Carrot Cake Essence
This blend might be a very literal interpretation of a tea for the White Rabbit from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland but it's so tasty! I think that in this case, going to an obvious interpretation was the right way to go!
In the past, I've done a few carrot/carrot cake-ish type blends, but this one is - in my opinion - the best I've done thus far. The carrot cake flavor is THERE - I taste the notes of carrot and a bit of spice cake. I even get a bit of tangy cream cheese frosting.
The secret, I think, is with the base. I used a beautiful, fluffy white Bai Mu Dan tea. The flavor is soft and delicate and it allows the carrot cake flavors to do their thing . . . .without masking the notes of the gentle white tea. The result is a soft, sweet tea that tastes like carrot cake. It's really quite lovely. So good, in fact, that I think it might be something worth being a bit late for!
